From Lorna
Many Congratulations. You are getting married!
I have had the privilege of shooting over 600 beautiful weddings, With many years of experience, I am able to achieve consistently great shots quickly and quietly, with both confidence and the minimum of fuss.
It’s my policy stay in the background as much as possible. As your photographer I am with you throughout the day; its a delicate balance of being there to capture you but discreet enough for you not to notice.
your wedding involves Far more than just showing up on the big day. I cover everything personally From Pre-Planning - shooting on the day - the all important post production and beauty retouching, right through to the finished album and final prints.
I like to pre-plan everything down to the last detail, this gives me the best chance of capturing every important moment. I can help guide you through the planning process and support you on your day.
I prefer to meet face to face with you, but if distance is a problem I can make arrangements on the phone. After your initial consultation, I provide you with a comprehensive plan, leaving nothing to chance.
I look forward to hearing from you
Lorna
The Plan “chance favours the prepared mind”
The plan is the blueprint and the single most important job of any wedding photographer. It is more than a mere schedule of times. It is written from notes taken at the consultation; all timings and arrangements are taken into consideration. Listed are times, where, when and who. It is a crucial document to ensure that all aspects of the day run smoothly. It also lists all the key people and reminders for “must have” shots, and highlights any potential sensitive issues eg. secret surprises or family politics.
Full reconnaissance - all venues are fully scouted; this is important to establish the potential for points of view and for contingency for bad weather shooting. Lorna will liaise with the wedding venue.
Letter of agreement - On booking a £500 deposit is required to secure your day. Confirmation is sent in writing.
The Big Day
Shooting on the Day - every wedding day is different; there are no set rules. Below are some general guidelines of shots for a traditional church wedding.
The Boys - the groom, the best man and the ushers. Cool relaxed shooting of the boys looking their best. Often we meet much earlier in the day and spend approximately 15-30 minutes, either at the wedding venue, church or A pub.
The Girls - getting ready, the bride, the bridesmaids, the bride’s mother, the details, dress, shoes & flowers. This part of the day is where Lorna achieves her hallmark bridal portraits as well as all the fun and frills shots that record the preparations.
The Ceremony - arriving and the bride’s entrance, the ceremony, exchanging the rings, the kiss, the register, the aisle, the happy couple, the confetti.
The Reception – family, hens and stags, the entire wedding party group, the setting, the food, the cake, the decorations, speeches, cake cutting…
Lorna recommends keeping formal groups to the minimum, to avoid the reception turning into a photoshoot! preferring to focus on relaxed groupings of your key people keeping the emphasis on fun and informal shooting.
The Couple – we always recommend that couples take time out for a short while from the wedding party. You may appreciate some quiet time to take it all in with one another. Without spending hours, this is the best time to get some wonderful shots - simply having a quite walk, an embrace, whatever you feel comfortable with. A minimum of fifteen minutes is written into the plan.
The Evening – first dance, throwing the bouquet, fireworks…
